And the most expensive one will cost 2 times more. There are both comfortable options and options for masochistic travelers… In general, let’s figure it out. Let’s not waste time on long introductions.
Direct train Minsk to Sochi
If there is some special dislike for airplanes in your soul, then you have only one option – to suffer for two days on the train. You can view the schedule and buy tickets on the website RW.BY. At the time of publication of the article, the train is the only way to get to Sochi without a transfer.
Trains leave almost every day. Along the way, the train passes Bobruisk, Zhlobin and Gomel.
The cost of tickets ranges from 329 to 576 BYN. It is cheaper in the reserved seat, more expensive in the compartment.
Advantages: “Choo-choo-choo-choo” outside the window, the romance of trains and the opportunity to flirt with women in an enclosed space, knowing that they can escape from you only through a window. Also, as I said, this is the only option to get to Sochi directly without a transfer.
Cons: smelly socks of a neighbor on the shelf, the smell of rotten sausage, the clatter of eggshells on the table and the risk of talking about politics with poorly educated people. Also, the train “Minsk” — Sochi” is a rather expensive travel option and the longest in time. Somewhere in the Novocherkassk area, the train will turn into a public bathhouse. You will look at the sea from the window and dream of suicide.
Travel time: 48-50 hours.
Who can I recommend this option to? People who are afraid of flying, are not friends with the Internet and love trains.
Train + train. The cheapest option
If the birches flying by the window fascinate you in a special way, then here’s another idea for a budget trip to Sochi. We split the route into two segments and tickets immediately become noticeably cheaper. So…
Step#1. Go to the website RW.BY and buy tickets from Minsk to Smolensk (78BYN for one-way travel).
Step #2. Then go to this website and buy tickets from Smolensk to Sochi (or Adler). They cost 5091 RUB or 172 BYN.
In total, in total the entire trip will cost you 250 BYN for one-way travel. Let me remind you that a direct train from Minsk costs 78-115 rubles more expensive.
Advantages: it is cheaper than a direct train from Minsk.
Cons: it’s still a train where the smells of dirty socks mix with the smells of rotten sausage. Someone is chatting while you are sleeping; someone is listening to Leps without headphones, someone is smoking in the vestibule. In general… This is an option for masochistic travelers. And don’t forget that…
Travel time: about 2 days. First, it’s 3 hours to Smolensk, and therefore another 43 hours to Sochi.
Flight from Minsk
At the moment, direct flights from Minsk to Sochi are in the line of Belavia. They fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You can see the exact figures here. Prices usually start from 450 BYN per one-way flight.
Travel time: 4 hours (or a little more).
Advantages: fast and comfortable. Cons: expensive. Who can I recommend this option? Those who appreciate comfort and want to get to Sochi as quickly as possible.
How would I go? Train + plane
Recently, modern trains of the Swallow class have been running from Minsk to Moscow. They spend 7 hours on the road and are relatively inexpensive (from 119 BYN for one-way travel).
But! They are disassembled quite quickly. Therefore, it is better to plan such a trip in advance. To do this, you need to follow two simple steps:
- Go to the website RW.BY and buy tickets from Minsk to Moscow.
- And then open this website and buy plane tickets from Moscow to Sochi.

The total cost of the trip in this case will be around 369 BYN (119 rubles for a train ride to Moscow + another 250 for a flight to Sochi).
Advantages. At the moment, this is one of the most comfortable options for a trip to the sea. The trains are good, the planes are good too. Therefore, if you are not afraid to get lost in Moscow, then I recommend that you choose this option.
Disadvantages. The need to get to one of the Moscow airports on your own, as well as plan everything in advance.
Travel time: 7 hours to Moscow + 4 more to Sochi.
Who can I recommend this option? Those who feel confident in traveling and strive to save money without sacrificing comfort.
Where did we live in Sochi?
During our last trip to Sochi, we split our vacation days in half to spend 4 days in the mountains and 4 days by the sea.

- A b Rosa Khutor found a stunning hotel at an altitude of 1100 meters. It was called Rosa Springs and it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. There was a great restaurant, free animation for children and adults, its own SPA and mountain views from each room.
