Spring in Belarus is an absolutely magical time. It’s the time of Carnival, bird trills and kayaking in the middle of the flooded forests. It’s also a time for unusual concerts, hotel discounts, and vibrant museum events. I will tell you about all this in my new article today. Let’s figure out how to make the spring meeting number 2025 truly unforgettable.
Idea No. 1. Go to Pinsk
According to statistics, the Brest region is the warmest in Belarus. And this is where spring comes first. So why not go to the south of Belarus for the first rays of the March sun?
You will walk around the old town, listen to the melodies of the organ in the Franciscan Church, take a boat ride on the waters of the Pina River, and in the evening you will go to see the paintings of Shishkin and Aivazovsky in the Museum of the Belarusian Polesie.

For all coffee lovers, I also recommend visiting the Zephyr coffee shop near the Jesuit Collegium. And as a place for lunch, you can choose the cute MYMO grill bar with an inexpensive Lunch menu (15 BYN) and delicious burgers (18-21 BYN).
In general, the gastronomic culture in Pinsk is quite well developed. There is a pleasant restaurant “Bona Sforza” with wine unlimited on Wednesdays (35 BYN); and the family cafe “Bambi” with a good play area; and the gastronomic bar “Mayak”, located inside the real submarines. It opened a couple of years ago, but in a short time it became one of the informal attractions of the city.

Idea #2. Swim in the Belarusian sea
2,500 years ago, Herodotus, traveling through the Belarusian lands, wrote about the sea, which he happened to observe on the territory of modern Polesie. Most likely, the ancient Greek scientist was in these parts in the spring, when numerous rivers and lakes overflow their banks, merging together and flooding vast territories in the floodplain of the Pripyat.

At this time, you can see how entire forests go under water, and residents of neighboring villages move between houses on boats. Today, this unusual phenomenon is called “The Sea of Herodotus“, and many Minsk travel agencies organize trips during which you can watch the legendary floods of Polesie, kayak among the flooded forests and listen to the voices of hundreds of birds that have just returned from the south.
I found such tours in the line of at least two different companies:

River flooding can be observed in March and April. It seems to me that there is something magical about the types of forests that grow right in the middle of the water surface.
Idea #3. Spend a weekend in a country chalet
If you are not mentally ready to sail a boat among the spring forests yet, then go enjoy the Belarusian nature in this country hotel. It is located on the shore of Lake Beloe in the Pribuzhskoye Polesie landscape Reserve.

Spring in Belarus is also a time of historical festivals and various ritual reconstructions. March traditionally starts with “The Feast of Viasna” and continues with the celebration of “Maslenitsa”. At this time, pancakes are baked everywhere, dances are performed and costumed performances related to the meeting of spring are arranged.
The “Maslenitsa festivities” will last the longest in the historical park “Sula” (until March 9th). The ticket price is quite high, but guests will enjoy a fire show, free tastings, and theatrical performances related to the meeting of spring.

Another day (or rather night) that is worth noting in the calendar is May 18th. Night of Museums of Belarus. It can be held in the main Belarusian “skansen” – the museum village of Ozertso (3 km from Minsk). On this day, bonfires and mythical characters will burn among wooden houses, ancient churches and tall mills.
Duda melodies and songs from the 19th century will sound over the thatched roofs. A professional team of actors in traditional costumes will arrange for the guests a real excursion into the past of the Belarusian village – and at the same time into the world of spirits that inhabited its folk rumor. Idea No. 6. Listen to “The King and the Fool” and go to a Linkin Park concert
If all these round dances, two–meter pancakes and other folk amusements are not your format at all, then here are some ideas for more traditional leisure activities.
- On March 16, Minsk Concert Hall will host the hits of “The King and the Fool” performed by the Sonorus Symphony Orchestra;
- And four days later, on March 20, the Palace of Trade Unions will host a concert in honor of Chester Bennington’s birthday, where Linkin Park’s most famous compositions will be performed in classical piano, cello and violin.
You can also listen to good music at Nesvizh Castle. There on March 23 the classical band “Trio Time” will perform, which will perform the melodies of the band “Queen”, “Linkin Park” and “Rammstein” in piano arrangement. Idea #7. Go to museums
It is also worth coming to Nesvizh on May 27, when the Belarusian “” starts in the local castle.Museum Night“. On this day, a special theatrical quest will take place in the former Radziwill Palace, in which you will be able to wander through the old corridors after dark, meeting local “ghosts and historical characters” along the way.

In other cities of Belarus, the “Night of Museums” will be held on May 18-19. The National Art Museum, the Museum of Folk Architecture and Everyday Life, the Palace of Arts, the National Historical Museum and other large complexes will join the action.

Idea #7.5. A few more words about museums
If you love modern art, you can also pay attention to A&V gallery. It’s quite small, but you can get there for free. The museum’s address is Revolutsionnaya 17. Until the end of March, there will be an exhibition of Natalia Lipskaya’s works under the general title “Give me a sign.”
The art gallery “Farba” has also become very popular . It’s not free, but videos from there have flooded all social networks. That’s why I couldn’t say a word about her either.
The exhibition “” is being held there until March 31.Neuro Belarus“, where you can see our country through the eyes of artificial intelligence. The collection includes more than 90 works showing Belarusian nature, history, architecture and mythology.
At the same time, the exhibition “” was opened in the same Farba Gallery.The Passion for Architecture” with quests, immersive films and works by Belarusian artists from the Foundation for Contemporary Art.
So far, they say that it will be possible to see her until the end of April. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the deadline is extended. She’s very popular at the moment.
Idea #8. Go to Mogilev for a SPA weekend
Spring in Belarus is a time when the cold has not completely gone away. Therefore, it would definitely be a good idea to rent a beautiful hotel room, put on a bathrobe, go down to the SPA and swim in a warm pool.
You can pull off such a trick, for example, in Mogilev (where all hotels are as cheap as possible). As an example, look at these two 4-star hotels.

In addition to accommodation, each of them also offers unlimited access to its SPA complex. And there are pools, sauna galleries, and other joys of life.
Mogilev is generally a great place to feel like a rich man.
