Pinsk is beautiful, like a young Mickey Rourke. There are many picturesque streets, pointed towers and impressive monuments of antiquity. But you can read about how I cried like a rainbow while walking around this city in my previous articles. For example, in this one. There I talked about organ concerts, urban ghosts and horror performances at the local PDT theater.
And now – let’s not repeat ourselves and talk about cafes and restaurants in Pinsk. Let’s figure it out:
- Where to eat in the city center?
- And where to find the best coffee?
- Where to go with the child?
- And how to get a “wine unlimited” for 35 BYN?
I would like to emphasize right away: I live in Minsk, and I can’t go to Pinsk restaurants every weekend. Therefore, before going to a particular institution – be sure to check its social networks. What if the prices have changed there, or the promotion I wrote about is no longer valid? Is this sorted out? Then let’s get started. Let’s see what the wonderful and exciting world of Pinsk catering can offer tourists.
Where to eat in the center of Pinsk? MYMO Grill bar
A famous institution in the former building of the hotel “English” (1925). Once there was a cabaret here, and young officers hacked at each other with might and main, arguing for the attention of local dancers. And now pizza and burgers are being prepared here, which are very popular in Pinsk.
In addition to them, the menu also includes grilled wings, various steaks and several types of breakfasts, which are served here:
- From Monday to Friday: from 11 to 17:00.
- And from Saturday to Sunday: from 11 to 14:00.
A separate page in the menu is devoted to various alcoholic tinctures and cocktails, but I personally have not tried them. Tanya and I ate a large pepperoni for two, a branded burger and washed it all down with a local “author’s” drink. It was delicious. I praise you. Overall, I liked the place.
Address: Lenin, 2.
Where to view the menu: @mymo_burger.
Advantages: good pizza and burgers. And also the atmosphere of being in the middle of things. I have been to Pinsk several times – and there has always been a cue ball in this institution. I probably won’t be much mistaken if I say that MYMO is one of the most popular establishments in the city.
Cons: a small room and an irrepressible desire to add the word “author’s” to all positions in the menu. But I think it can be forgiven.
Approximate price level: burgers (16-20 BYN), pizza (20-24 BYN), breakfasts (12-19 BYN).
Bona Sforza restaurant
Another institution located in a historic building of the early 20th century. Its history is not as cool as that of the English Hotel (as far as I know, there was a simple stationery store here in the old days). But the restaurant itself is very good here. And he tells you about it right away – with an abundance of guests and an abundance of stickers on the doors mentioning various prizes won.
And I can also sincerely praise the local waiters (who immediately took us to the wardrobe, brought a suitcase and dragged some kind of miracle stool for Tanya’s handbag). It started to rain – he’s right there with a plaid plaid. If I lived in Pinsk, I would come to such an institution often.
There is no clear profile in the restaurant’s menu. Everything is standard here – soups, snacks, steaks, pizza and a lot of types of wines. On Thursday there is a discount on cocktails (on this day they all cost 14 BYN). And on Wednesdays there is a wine unlimited. You pay 35 BYN per person – and drink until the songs of Stas Mikhailov pour from your lips.
Address: Pervomaiskaya 8.
Where to view the menu: @bonasforza.restaurant.
Breakfasts: Mon-Sun: 10:00-13:00.
Approximate prices: shakshuka with feta and ciabatta (16 BYN), borscht with beef (12 BYN), pepperoni pizza (21 BYN).
Advantages: stylish, delicious, excellent service.
Cons: shakshuka for breakfast could be more.
Bembi Family Cafe
The best restaurant in Pinsk for companies with children. One half of the establishment is an ordinary coffee shop. The second is a children’s play area. Access is paid (but, unfortunately, this is a common phenomenon in Belarus). The cost is 10 BYN per hour. The extension is 7 BYN per hour.
Advantages: there is a place to push the children.
Cons: the place is completely new (when I was there, it didn’t even have a sign above the entrance yet). They don’t have informative social networks, where there are only a couple of posts. But perhaps they will fix this nuance over time.
Address: Lenin, 33.
Social networks: @bembi_cafe_pinsk.
Brunch Trattoria
The invisible restaurant, which modestly hides in the courtyards opposite the Pinsky Drama Theater. The address of the institution is Lenin 31. But in fact, it is located, as if from the wrong side of a pedestrian street, so it is better to focus on the theater building.
On weekdays, there is a business lunch menu (from 12 to 14:30), within which the dining complex costs 10 BYN. The set includes soup, salad and a side dish with a cutlet. I think it’s a good price.
From time to time, the institution hosts “wine evenings” — special lectures on wine with professional sommeliers and subsequent tastings. But you can only get to them if the stars stand up in the right way. This is more of a format for residents of Pinsk than for tourists.
A separate story is the local breakfasts. They are served by:
- From Monday to Friday – from 10 to 12.
- And on weekends – from 10 to 15.
At least that’s what it says on the restaurant’s social media. But Tanya and I came to Brunch at 14:40 – and the local waiter informed us that they no longer serve breakfast at this time. According to him, the breakfast menu is valid until 14:30 – and what is written in the restaurant’s social networks does not bother him.
After that, my attitude towards the Brunch restaurant immediately deteriorated. And we left. But maybe it was a separate episode. That’s why I don’t want to exaggerate too much here. When I came to Pinsk last year and also visited this institution, it rather left a pleasant impression.
Approximate price level: burgers 21-25 BYN, pasta 19-21 BYN, English breakfast – 19 BYN, Belarusian – 17 BYN.
The restaurant’s social networks (which don’t bother the local waiters): @brunch_pinsk.
Khinkalnya
A chain Georgian restaurant, which is widely represented in Minsk. The menu is the same. The concept is the same. Therefore, if you like a Minsk restaurant, then you can also take a closer look at his Pinsky friend. Judging by the number of people, this place in Pinsk is very popular. And this is the main indicator for any restaurant.
On weekdays (from 12 to 16), the restaurant has a business lunch menu (with a set of dishes for 13 BYN). On weekends (at the same time) they are replaced by brunches. Approximate prices can be viewed in the photo below.
And to check their relevance, take a look at social networks @hinkalnya.pinsk. At the same time, check out information about local promotions. In the arsenal there are “3 wines for the price of 2”, “The second kudbari for 1 penny” and many other things.
But I will not write anything about the pros and cons of the institution. I have been to similar establishments in Minsk (and one of them is located very close to my house). Therefore, I ignored the Pinsk “Khinkalnya”. If you have been there, write in the comments about your impressions.
Restaurant address: Lenin, 55.
Two good coffee shops in Pinsk
I’m talking about the coffee shops “Marshmallows” and “Milk“, which are considered the best in the city. Ideologically, they are quite similar – so step into the one that will be closer. Both boast a good selection of coffee, lots of desserts and a relaxed atmosphere. They even have a fairly close price level: different types of coffee will cost you from 5 to 7 BYN. Desserts – from 4 to 8 BYN.
Zephyr also has popular lemonades for 7-8 BYN. Milk has milkshakes and about a dozen alcoholic mixes. You can view all the details in the social networks of the establishments: @molokopinsk and @zephyrpinsk. Addresses: Lenin Square 7/1 and Pervomaiskaya 26.
Pinsk restaurants: worthy of mention
Some time ago, there was still an unusual gastrobar “Mayak” in Pinsk, located inside some old submarine.
But the institution is now in search of a new owner, and in what format it will reopen (and whether it will open at all) only Alexander Sheps and other stars of the “Battle of Psychics” know. At the moment, it’s just a submarine parked at the Pinskaya embankment. You can take a picture with her. You can lick it. But you won’t get any other food from her right now.
I will write separately about the coffee shop “Bosphorus” (at Lenin, 53). It has a nice interior, so I’ve been here twice. But each time he remained the only visitor in the hall.
I have no idea why Pinsk residents ignore him so much. In my opinion, the place is very average, but I would not call it terrible. The arsenal includes “morning coffee” (9:00-11:00) with a 20% discount, special sets of the Coffee + bun format (for 8-9 BYN) and several types of breakfasts (for 10-13 BYN). The address of the institution is Lenin, 53. The address in social networks is @bosfor_pinsk.
If you know other cafes and restaurants in Pinsk that are worthy of being included in this list, leave your tips in the comments. And I will briefly run through the organizational aspects and will be finishing already.
Afterword: how can I arrange a trip to Pinsk?
Getting to Pinsk is most convenient by minibus. Travel time is about 4 hours. The cost is 25 BYN. And the schedule can be viewed on the website7588.by .
There are trains too, but they arrive late at night. Therefore, if you have not yet managed to get your own housing in Pinsk, this option is unlikely to suit you. You can check if something has changed in the flight schedule on the website of the Belarusian Railway – RW.BY .
Continuing the topic of housing – I recommend you to look at this site. There are a lot of rental apartments in different parts of the city. The cheapest apartments in Pinsk now cost 35 BYN (here is one option for example). Therefore, it is best to go to the capital of Polesie with at least one overnight stay.
There are hotels in the city, of course, too. The best of them is called “Pinsky Courtyard” and is located in a historic building – approximately in the middle between the Pina embankment and the local pedestrian street. You can view photos of the rooms here. Or you don’t have to look (since apartments are still twice as cheap).
You can read about other hotels in Pinsk in the article at the link below. There I talked about the invisible hotels, which can only be booked by phone or through their own website, so do not ignore my hotel opus.
Well, that’s all for today. Thank you for reading the article to the end. I hope now it is clearer to you which cafes and restaurants in Pinsk should be visited first.
