In both cities there are many places where you can have a delicious breakfast or instagrammatically eat a croissant. I have a separate article about Grodno establishments (read it if you want). Well, today I will tell you about 5 of my favorite establishments in Brest. Here they are…
Union 8 is a stylish coffee shop in the city center. Delicious raf is brewed here, and themed events are often held on weekends (from film screenings and lectures to garage sales).
The address of the institution — Ostrovsky str., 8. Look for the current poster in their social networks. The account is called @union.8.
CHOCOTE. A coffee shop, a shop and a souvenir shop all rolled into one. Here you can drink delicious coffee, find special tea and buy author’s chocolate with recognizable symbols of Brest. The address of the institution is Komsomolskaya, 25.
Bresto/Testo is a very unusual restaurant that relies on various dough products.
The menu includes dumplings, ravioli, chebureks and their culinary relatives. All dishes are sculpted by hand. The address of the institution is Gogol, 86. The address on social networks is @brestotesto (there will also be an up–to-date menu).
Alchemy (Budennogo, 24 /@alchemybrest). A wine gastrobar with good food and dozens of types of wines (from Spain to Chile).
Beautiful parties are held here on weekends. And on Thursday, you can come to the bar “with your own”. You order dishes from the menu – and you can bring wine from a nearby store.
Paragraph. A good chain cafe, branches of which can be seen in various parts of Brest. The menu includes delicious coffee, pastries, cakes and cupcakes. If you like sweets, be sure to look here. For the bar and restaurant culture of Brest, it has become something of an imperishable classic. Look for menus and addresses of establishments on the website paragraph.by .
Idea No.5. Soak up the SPA
A couple of years ago, I discovered the Mogilev Atrium SPA Hotel (and at the same time, the fact that a SPA in general is very cool). Therefore, when I went to Brest, I also found something similar here. The complex is called Delta SPA – and is located in the very center of the city (on Gogol Street). Inside there is a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, 4 types of saunas, a salt room, a lounge bar and my favorite “shower of impressions”. To be honest, I liked the SPA in Mogilev more. But his Brest colleague also looks decent.
If, after long walks through the streets of Brest, you suddenly feel unbearably like soaking up in a bubble bath or sprawling in a hammam on warm sun beds, take a look at the website deltaspa.by . All passwords and appearances will be there.
Idea No.5. Go to nature
I am sure that hardly any of you associate the Brest region with a beach holiday. And in vain, because it is here – at Lake Katashi – the cleanest beach in Belarus is located. It takes quite a long time to get there (as much as 45 kilometers). But you will be rewarded with pine trees, blue water and a beach with snow-white sand.
There are also good eco-hotels near Brest. I found at least two of them. And each of them is well worthy of a separate trip.
The first one is called Greenwood Chalet. It is located next to Lake Beloe, surrounded by a beautiful pine forest. On weekends, “beach concerts” are organized here, and the local restaurant regularly holds master classes and culinary evenings (like “Grill Days”). Of course, the complex has its own hotel.
Room rates can be viewed here.
A more budget option is Rynkovka manor. It is located very close to Brest – just 15 minutes away by car.
It also has its own beach (by the Lesnaya River), as well as a small zoo and a water base where you can go kayaking. The complex itself is built in an ethnic style, and the menu of the local restaurant focuses on traditional Belarusian dishes.
You can check the room rates on this page. If you want to get into the everyday life of the Belarusian village, you will definitely like this place.
Bonus. Go in search of antiquities
I have already written that the old quarters of Brest have practically not survived to the present day. Therefore, it is better for connoisseurs of Belarusian history to leave the city. If time is short, take the minibus 20T and go to a small village called Skokie. Here is the Nemtsevich Palace, known since the middle of the 18th century.
The author of the photo is Sergey Bond (sergeybond.livejournal.com )
In different years, Tadeusz Kosciuszko and the Russian Emperor Alexander the Third visited here. And today it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Brest.
There are several castles near the city. The complex in Ruzhany is still under restoration. But in Kossovo all work was completed several years ago. Now this castle is the third most popular in Belarus (second only to Mir and Nesvizh). How to get to it, you can read here.

Another place that is easy to get to without a car is the town of Pruzhany. Several old temples have been preserved here, and in the very center stands the beautiful Shvykovsky manor (built in the middle of the 19th century). At the same time, you can get here from Brest in just an hour. Tickets cost from 7 to 12 BYN. And buses run all the time.
Probably, here you can also remember the Gothic chapel in Zakozeli and The Trinity Church in Volchyn, the mystical Reitan manor in Grushevka and the incredibly colorful “abandoned” in the village Yastrembel…

But this article turned out to be a big one anyway, so I’ll talk about all this in my next review. The link to it will be below.
Well, that’s all for today. If I forgot something, feel free to add me in the comments. Write me what to do in Brest, and what places can you personally recommend? It will be interesting for me to read. Let’s create this guide together.
