There are at least three settlements in Belarus named Naroch. Therefore, first of all, just try not to get confused in them. Most of the tourists go to the “resort village of Naroch” (Myadel district). It is located on the shore of the lake of the same name. And 4 km from it there is an agro-town, which bears the same name.
If you travel by car, you can stop by here for two reasons – for the sake of fresh cheeses from the local dairy or photos of the Neo-Gothic church of St. Andrew (built back in 1897). But in all other respects, the agro–town of Naroch is a typical Belarusian village (with wooden houses and storks on roadside poles).
There is another Naroch in Belarus, in the Vileysky district. Therefore, when making a route, pay attention not only to the name of the locality, but also to the region to which it belongs. In this article, I will tell you how to get to the resort village of Naroch, the most popular tourist center of the lake district. Is this sorted out? Then let’s get started.
Naroch: how to get there by bus?
First of all, take a look at the website ticketbus.by . There will be an up-to-date timetable for all buses traveling in this direction. As a destination, it is better to choose “Naroch K.P.” or <#171;The Priozerny Sanatorium (it is located closest to the main local beach called Urliki).
Ticket prices range from 25 to 29 BYN. Travel time is about 3 hours or a little less. The place of departure is the Central Bus Station of Minsk (near the Lenin Square metro station).
Minibus to the resort village of Naroch
Another good option to get to Belorusskoe Lake is Atlas Bus minibuses. Therefore, if you couldn’t find a suitable bus, you can pay attention to them too. The ticket price is 25-26 BYN. You can view the schedule on the official company’s website. But please note that many flights do not go to the resort village, but to the agro-town of Naroch (4 km from the lake). Therefore, it is better to get out a little earlier – for example, at the stop sanatorium “Priozerny”.
If in doubt about something, check with the navigator or just consult with the driver.
How to get to Naroch by car?
There are two popular routes from Minsk toNarochansky National Park.
- The first one goes through Molodechno along the R-28 highway.
- The other is laid along the Vilia River along the R–58 road.
The length of both routes is about the same, so a lot depends on your “starting point” and the places you would like to see along the way. At least, it’s hard for me to drive for many hours without stopping. That’s why I always pay attention to the beauty and historical value of a particular route.
For example, the R-28 highway passes through the village of Radoshkovichi, where there is a beautiful church and a large zoo with alpacas. And if you make a small detour, then you can add to this road the Oginsky estate in the village of Zalesye. There is a museum there. And the park around is very picturesque.
As for the R-58 highway, there are interesting points there too. For example, on the way to Naroch, you can:
- See the brutal temple of the heart of Jesus in the village of Ilya;
- Have a picnic on the banks of the Vilia River;
- Or visit Myadel, where there is also a great beach (“My place”) and the Baroque Church of Our Lady of Shkaplernaya (1754).
The village of Ilya (near the highway R-58).If you travel by electric car, do not forget to recharge your car here. There are fast charging stations (80 kW) in Myadel (at 37 Yubileynaya Street). But in Naroch itself, I found only one place where I can recharge. And even then, only if you have a charging cable.
Where to stay in Naroch?
There are a lot of different sanatoriums, hotels and recreation centers near Lake Naroch. Therefore, here I will highlight only those options that seemed interesting to me personally.
- There is a Malinovka farm with authentic 19th century huts near the beaches;
- And in the village of Zanaroch, you can settle in a very colorful manor with a swimming pool and an “observation deck on an oak tree.”
If you prefer modern architecture, you can take a closer look at the Moon Complex (@moon.naroch), about 1 km from the famous lake. And those who appreciate silence and privacy should recommend this cute A-frame near Urliki beach.
As for sanatoriums, my clear favorite is the very Priozerny sanatorium. It’s quite expensive, but the reviews are very high.

Actually, Lake Naroch is a very cool place. There are coniferous forests, white yachts on the surface of the water and many interesting places in the neighborhood. There are ancient churches hidden among quiet villages, and modern SPA centers, and an eco-trail “Blue Lakes”, inspired by the legends of mermaids and sunken churches.
