Just yesterday, I wrote a long text about the gastronomic attractions of St. Petersburg. In it, I talked about vampire balls, coffee shops with sports cars, and Alice in Wonderland-themed lounge bars. If you’re interested, you can open it in the next tab. I’ve collected all the interesting and unusual information there.

But today, on the contrary, everything will be as banal and simple as possible. We will talk about…
- chain canteens with breakfasts for 179 rub;
- about inexpensive restaurants with fixed prices;
- and gastronomic spaces where you can taste dishes from dozens of countries all at once.
And there will also be tips on where to go for a business lunch? And where to find the most satisfying combo dinners? In general, today we are coming down from the skies to the earth and trying to figure out where to eat cheaply in the center of St. Petersburg? The idea is banal, but this article will be as useful as possible for tourists.
Canteen 7 minutes from the Hermitage

It is called «Sloika is located in the courtyards at 6 Millionnaya Street. To find it, walk down the street in the direction of increasing house numbers, and then enter the arch near the Senator Business Center.
The restaurant itself is very simple but clean. The menu includes set lunches (from 300 rub), set breakfasts (from 179), as well as shakshuka, pilaf, soups, salads, and a variety of desserts (from 180 rub). A detailed menu with prices can be viewed on the website sloykabakery.ru. In addition to the main establishment on Millionnaya Street, this chain has more than a dozen canteens in various parts of the city. One of them is located on Vasilyevsky Island, about halfway between the Menshikov Palace and the Erarta Museum. The other one is on Petrogradskaya Embankment (near the cruiser Aurora).
Vasileostrovsky market or 30 restaurants in one place

This is St. Petersburg’s first gastronomic market, and it’s also one of the most popular international food venues. There’s a small courtyard on the street, and inside, you’ll find a food section with fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and other products (which are sold at significantly higher prices).
However, people usually come here not for the products, but for the numerous food corners, which are mini-restaurants offering a wide variety of dishes. There are approximately thirty food corners in the Vasileostrovsky Market, so everyone can find something to their liking.

There’s Uzbek pilaf, Asian ramen, Italian pasta, and Georgian khinkali with American burgers. You can view all the details on the website vo-market.ru. There’s a restaurant map and a useful section with a selection of set lunches from various establishments.
Here’s an example of my own order from the Korean corner “K in my heart“.

The soup, salad, main course, and drink cost me 590 rubles. You can expect similar prices. However, only on weekdays and only from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. On weekends, only a few restaurants offer set lunches.
Pusi Lebedi on Belinsky
One of the best restaurants in St. Petersburg in terms of price and quality. There is a beautiful interior, a pleasant view from the window (of the ancient Simeon and Anna Cathedral), and cool concerts on Fridays and Saturdays.
But the main feature of the establishment is the fixed prices for dishes. On weekdays, all items on the main menu are offered for 350 rub. And on weekends and holidays – 400 each.

For this money, you can choose, for example, donuts with roast beef, steak salad or pizza with a pear. There are relatively few items on the menu, but you won’t go hungry.
You can view all the details on the website pusylebedi.ru.
This chain has four restaurants in total. The main restaurant is located at Belinskogo 5. There are also three smaller establishments:
- 10 Medikov Avenue,
- 2 Marat Street;
- And Sadovaya Street.
The style and interior design are different everywhere. But the concept of the menu is the same everywhere. So you can safely look there while walking around the city.
City 812 or all dishes for 300 rubles

Another chain of establishments with fixed prices. The authors of the restaurants are the same as those of the “Swans”, so the concept of the menu is extremely similar.
On weekdays, all dishes cost 300 rubles. And until 17.00, they also serve coffee for free. There is no such “coffee” bonus on weekends. All dishes are served for 350 rub – but, you see, this is also quite budgetary.

Find the full list of addresses on the websitegorod812-cafe.ru .
Israeli bistro with large portions

It’s called “Bekitzer,” and compared to the previous two, it doesn’t seem so budget-friendly. An Israeli breakfast here costs 710 rub, and for a classic shakshuka you will have to pay another 530 rub.

As you can see, the price tag is average. But this place has at least one important plus – these are quite large portions. If you really want, you can even take such a “shvarmu on a plate” (670 rub) for two.

At least, I was completely satisfied with this place. It’s cozy, stylish, and delicious. All orders come with free lemon water. If you’re not a fan of water, you can order a beer (390 RUB) or a local tincture set (800 RUB).
Another advantage is that the establishments of this chain are often located in very interesting places – in New Holland or directly on Rubinstein Street.

You can find a detailed menu and a full list of addresses on the website bekitzer.ru. I liked this place.
People love
A large network of bakeries spread throughout St. Petersburg. Breakfast and lunch are served here all day long. Therefore, you can easily grab a bite to eat while exploring the city. The cost of the combo varies depending on the number of items included.

For example, a set of soup, tea and any pastries will cost you 279 rub. And if you add a hot dish to this set, then the cost will grow to 449 rub. But to be honest – the food here is so-so.
The interior is neat. The location is convenient. The coffee is delicious. And the pastries are great. But the main dishes are so-so. The boxed buckwheat and the cardboard cup soup are a bit of a turn-off.

You can view all the details on the website lyudilubyat.rf. Combo sets are available in the “News and Promotions” section.
Tokyo City or Three Aperols for the Price of One
The main advantage of this chain is that discounts are available throughout the day. You can come here in the evening or even on a weekend and enjoy pizza and rolls for a fraction of the price. It can be a set of three different types of sushi (8 pieces + 8 pieces + 8 pieces) for 888 rubles. Or a pizza for 333 rubles.

In addition, the establishment also has quite inexpensive alcohol. For example, we ordered three Aperol for 333 rubles. However, the same promotional menu also included three rum colas, three tequilas, and three beers for the same price.
Look for the current set of promotional dishes in telegram @tokyocity_rus.

The only downside is that all the chain’s establishments are very different. In the center, many of them look very simple. However, I liked the Tokyo City restaurant near the Bucharestskaya metro station (where we stayed in this beautiful hotel here).
Short mentions

If desired, this article could mention a few more chain restaurants where you can eat cheaply in the center of St. Petersburg. These are:
- Teremok restaurants;
- Volchek’s bakeries;
- and Canteen No. 1.
However, I didn’t want to stretch this text too much, and I still prefer the restaurants mentioned above.

A separate story is the network of Asian restaurants DED HO. During our trip, there was a large menu of combo lunches, within which for 500 rubles you could get a full lunch with noodles, soup Pho Bo and a drink. But now I do not find this promotion on their website. Therefore, I do not know how relevant it is.
Afterword

That’s all for now. I’ve told you everything I know, so let’s say goodbye. As a final touch, I just want to remind you…
- That I have a long article about St. Petersburg;
- And a text about the most unusual (albeit not the cheapest) restaurants in St. Petersburg.
Read them. There’s a lot of interesting information there.
And if you haven’t yet decided where you’ll be staying during your trip, take a look at this website. There are many budget-friendly apartment and hotel options Peter.

As for us, during our last trip, we stayed at this 5-star hotel near the Bukharestskaya metro station. If you choose this hotel, be sure to use the promo code Anton2025. In this case, you will receive a 12% discount.
Consider this as a small gift for reading my long text.
